  2. Field trips are a great way to create interest in the students. The mere visual of ancient weapons, clothing, vessels, and artifacts are enough to create the interest in the students.

    1. Letters, diaries, speeches, and photographs Artifacts such as tools are  primary sources. Other tools that historians use are secondary sources.manuscripts, inscriptions etc.so I will go for both primary and secondary uses.

  20. Sources of social science such as history enable a learner to understand different subjects easily. Sources are devided into primary and secondary. Literary, archaeological, numismatics, inscriptions, oral accounts, folk songs, are belong to primary source. But textbooks, journals, and periodicals are the secondary sources for understanding. Teacher must choose the source for the understanding of his students regarding a particular period of history. I like the numismatics(gold coin) source to assimilate to develop a holistic understanding of a particular period of history i. e GuptaEra which was the golden period of history. We can see the collected coins in a museum for better understanding of that period. Picture of gold coins can give us data about that time, metal, economic condition, about particular ruler, social, religious and cultural life of people etc. SANKAR PUJAHARI from Sonepur district of Odisha

  25. Following sources I would like to assimilate to develop a holistic understanding of a particular period in History.
    *Try to collect the things used by the people of that time to show my students.
    * Try to collect some extra information about that certain period from books/ magazines/ internet to make my students know about this.
    * If there could have made any films/ tv-serials based on that time I would like to suggest my students to watch those.
    Ex- If I have to teach on the historical period of the King Ashoka; then I may suggest my students to watch the Hindi movie named "Ashoka"
    * If possible I would like to make a spot visit program with my students.
    Ex- To teach my students on the period of Ashoka , the great I may plan a spot visit program to Dhauli, Shanti stupa(ODISHA) with my students.

To develop a holistic understanding of a particular period in history, I would like to assimilate sources like time line, news paper cuttings of past years, pictures of different incident , coins of ancient time, notes and books on life of great personalities, etc. Apart from this for better understanding I can go for field trip with students to historical places, museum.

  63. Study tours are one of the best way to create interest in the students. The mere visual of ancient weapons, clothing, vessels, and artifacts are enough to create the interest in the students.
