Comments

  1. Yes, children learn best in a language they understand. They become proficient readers more quickly when learning in the language they speak at home than when using a language that is only used in school. A strong foundation of reading and learning in the mother tongue even improves acquisition of second language literacy, fluency and contributers to a student's Long term success.

  11. Yes, as a teacher I support multilingualism and we can dafinitely use this as a resource and a strategy. Because a multilingual teacher/student can be considered as an asset/resource in teaching-learning process since it is a positive quality . A multilingual teacher is more efficient , friendly and familiar in delivering the contents before his/her students than others. Similarly a multilingual child is more efficient in getting the theme of the content than other common students.
A multilingual teacher also able to understand his/her students in a better way and a multilingual child is creative and can be an active participant in class room activities. In my opinion being multilingual is not only a resource but it can be a special/unique resource.

  12. Yes, I totally suport multilingualism. Multilingual education helps ELL children both learn English and maintain their home language—both of which benefit these children's overall language and social development. When ELLs have a strong foundation in one language, that strong foundation also supports learning and academic achievement in the other language.

And it is important in many other aspects as this process increases vocabulary of learner, it gives a clear understanding of words, phrases, sentences, formalities and their proper uses. It broadens the mindset of learners as by making familiar with other cultures and fellow feelings. It teaches our learners one best thing of acceptance and clears the concept of "Unity in Diversity".
