How observation skills help children in learning of science?

Comments

  1. Students are natural observers, that is how they go about learning about the world around them. However everyday observation is significantly different form the kind of observation skills necessary for success in science.students must be prepared for and supported in their observation if they are to use them to reason as young scientists.

  18. Observation is essential in science. Scientists use observation to collect and record data, which enables them to construct and then test hypotheses and theories. Scientists observe in many ways – with their own senses or with tools such as microscopes, scanners or transmitters to extend their vision or hearing.Observation skill is critical for gaining command on other science process skills. It helps in widening the conceptual understanding by children of things around them and also in promoting their natural curiosity.

  29. Observation skills help children in learning of science. Children observation and investigations of the environment enable them to identify and answer questions that trigger their curiosity about the world around them. By observation a teacher can understand the child and his/her abilities, interest, to plan activities for development. Man has curiosity about the natural environment around him. He builds conceptual models to understand the world on the basis of observation and arrives at theories, laws, and principles. This human endeavour is science. Flexibility, innovation, creativity pairing with observation skills one can face the challenge in the fast changing world. For exa to escape from covid-19 we have to observe the symptoms and precaution and medicine to be cure from disease. There are eight steps to learn observation skills. We can better learn about science through observation than other skills. SANKAR PUJAHARI from Sonepur district of Odisha.

Science means truth. When our students curious and learn something Science related from nature or in any institute he/she becomes more conscious to become observe things minutely. This temper helps him/her to be familiar with the concepts, processes, results of the going on task.
Observation in other ways makes children ready to accept truth, to be hard worker, aware about does and don'ts,they will accept the Science behind every natural process in environment.
Moreover they will accept and respect Science as nature. No doubt these are the basics of Science Learning.
